Another sign on bike path would be helpful

I am writing out of concern, about the safety of the partial bike path on Kalifornsky Beach road. Turning right at the light, from Bridge Access, it’s easy to miss the Pathway No Motor Vehicles sign, a short distance from the crosswalk light.

Go a bit further, and on your right, you see the elevated part of the path, with just a 55 mph sign to the left, but no indication of being a pedestrian-only path. I realize most of us living here already know it’s part of the path, but I have witnessed on three occasions, cars using it as a turnaround. The last guy had a large SUV, with a UHaul trailer attached.

With tourist season approaching, and people on the move, it makes me nervous.

Since many of us with bicycles, dog walkers, kids, and joggers, can now use the path, and do so against traffic, for different reasons, I think placing a second Pathway sign, to the right of the path, and across from the speed limit sign, would be an effective and safe solution.

I really hope for a nice dry summer, and lots of outdoor time. If I wreck my Trek, or get injured, and have to use my Ninja skills under duress, it would be a shame.

Thanks in advance, for attention to this matter.
