Background checks should be mandatory for all gun sales

Posted: May 9, 2013 - 9:12am

While the Brady Law requires criminal background checks of gun sales at gun stores, these checks are not required at gun shows, online sales and other venues where unlicensed sellers operate.

Right now in most states, felons, domestic abusers and the dangerously mentally ill can walk into a gun show, flea market or even log on to the Internet and buy weapons from unlicensed sellers, no questions asked.

Congress should require a simple criminal background check on gun sales. The Brady Law has stopped over 2 million felons and domestic abusers from getting guns at gun stores. Now it’s time to finish the job.

Completing the necessary paperwork for a background checks takes mere minutes, and more than 91 percent of these checks are completed instantaneously.

The Second Amendment requires basic responsibility, and as a society we are responsible for keeping guns out of the hands of dangerous people like criminals, terrorists and the dangerously mentally ill.

Good Find! I always like when a liberal is exposed for who they really are! Seems that Brandon Tucker is another totally clueless whippersnapper who can't wipe his mouth without directions from Barack!

Black on Black crime

54% of the people dying due gun violence in America today will be Black citizens, victims of Black on Black crime. The numbers are clear, Black Americans count as approx. 13% of the over-all population. Are they just 4 times better at killing each other or is there some other fly in the ointment? Or does it have something to do with totally unarmed victims, you see where these murders are taking place; nobody but the murderers are armed. Careful Gun Control policies have left the vast populous without the ability to be lawfully armed!
How convenient, for the armed criminal; NOBODY will shoot back? Why because they can't legally have a firearm due to illegal limits placed on their constitutional rights by people like Brandon. It won't matter much to that hard working store owner in a crime ridden area when he sees a hooded demon with a gun enter his shop. He knows if he sounds the alarm this guy will shoot him and be gone with the loot before any Police response can help him. Welcome to the New America, all made possible by folks like Brandon and the Democratic voting machine the O-47. Good day

To Brandon:

How can you explain away (IE: Lie) the fact that the liberal gun-control advocates already admitted that the only true way to ensure their "Universal Background Check" is monitored is "Gun Registration"? Yes, Mr. tucker, YOUR own liberals stated that!

Also, since you are clueless in regards to he Constitution (read 2nd Amendment for clarity), Also, due to the agenda and extermination of mankind by that pesky little dictator named Adolf Hitler, it is in violation and illegal for the Federal Government to Register firearms. (Look that one up dummy)

So, if YOU don't like guns and want to go list your guns at the nearest ATF office or State Trooper all means, go for it! As for the rest of us law abiding citizens, MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS...if you can't keep you nose pointed in the right direction, then I suggest you pack up your carpetbag and MOVE to Kalifornia where you can register all you want. What a idiot...

Brandon I believe if more people were educated in the safety and proper use of firearms, and the comon criminal knew that there life could be at risk at any given moment. There would be less criminals ! Background checks, finger printing, isn't an issue for criminals.

background checks for gun buyers

Brandon either has not THOUGHT about his support of more background checks. or he is oblivious to the way government works.

Not only should we be concerned about what any new laws might say, the actual regulations are written up by un-elected , unknown people with no accountability to we, the PEOPLE.

Those regulations could include many 'rules' that we would have to accept as LAW, and those regulations could easily be expanded, without notice or input by the public, to the point that it would stop many Americans from buying or owning, a gun,

Regulations prohibiting those taking psychotropic medications could be expanded to include anyone who even takes an ASPIRIN!

Stopping those who have committed any violent crime, from buying a gun, could be expanded to include anyone with a traffic violation, an accusation of 'Domestic Violence", an overdue bill or any other minor issue.

The bottom line is.... someone who wants a gun, WILL find a way to get one, even if that means stealing one or robbing someone of their legal firearm.

Gun owners better wake up and 'Draw the line in the Sand'...and insist on NO MORE USELESS GUN LAWS.

They only punish those honest citizens who are responsible gun owners.
