Thanks for push for new track at SoHi

Soldotna High School students, coaches and staff would like to thank the many parents and community members for writing letters, sending emails and making phone calls to Juneau in support of securing the funds to replace our 30-plus-year-old track. The new track/turf will provide a much better place for all our athletes including earlier access for our soccer teams in the spring and improved surfaces to help limit the number of athletic injuries. The new track/turf will serve all our students within the greater Soldotna area for many years to come. One of our goals with this new field is to host more events in Soldotna, resulting in filling up our hotels, restaurants and businesses throughout the year!

Special Thanks goes out to the following local leaders for kicking off the lobbying efforts: John Torgerson, Linda Murphy, Pete Sprague, Guy Hayes, Mark Dixson, Dale Bagley and Dr. Steve Atwater. Borough Mayor Mike Navarre truly carried the football into the end zone for Soldotna High School with his tireless lobbying efforts down in Juneau. Please also note that none of this would have been possible without the Legislative leadership of Representative Kurt Olson, Senator Peter Micciche, Representative Mike Chenault and Representative Bill Stoltze.

Please help Soldotna High School by sending all of these fine men and women a BIG Thank You for all their efforts!
