At least the speed limit now fits

The Cohoe road goes from pavement back to gravel. Unbelievable! Why? Because some powers that be, want pavement near where they live and do not want to waste it on the Cohoe road.

We pay city sales tax for what benefits? They get pavement, sidewalks, water, sewer, television and snow removal and we get what? Give us a tax-exempt card and see what a blow that would be to city finances.

When the Cohoe road was paved the first-time, the borough assembly learned that it could have authority over the DOT. They tested this by freezing the speed zone on the North Cohoe Loop at 45 mph. The troopers, who generally serve society but will even more readily serve themselves, knew that people would do over 45 on a new stretch of pavement. They went to Cohoe for their ticket quota. They passed out ticket after ticket compliments of the borough assembly, another organization that is supposed to serve society. I am reminded of a line from “Grapes of Wrath”: “Every time I see the work service I think of servicing a heifer and I wonder who’s getting screwed.”

From pavement back to gravel. At least now the speed limit fits. 45 mph is the speed for improved gravel. No thanks to the greedy leaders responsible!
