Remember to yield to emergency vehicles

I was taught many moons ago in Drivers Ed class to always look in your rear view and side view mirrors to see what is behind you. Obviously this is lost on today’s drivers who are more in tune with getting down here to the Kenai.

On two separate occasions the past two weekends heading north on the Sterling Highway into Soldotna there were emergency vehicles with their sirens and flashing lights on heading southbound.

I was confounded to see not only southbound traffic (with emergency vehicles behind them trying to get around them) but also northbound vehicles not pulling over for these emergency vehicles.

People, you are endangering everyone on the road by not pulling over for emergency responders. Someone’s life may be depending on quick responses from these responders!

It is the law! Please pull over immediately (and watch your rear view mirrors!)!
