New turf gets a thumbs-up

Kudos and thumbs-up to all folks in the Kenai area responsible for the new KCHS Football Field rededicated last Saturday after completion of the beautiful track, artificial turf, articulate striping, and the lay-out. Thanks is due to Kenai City Manager Rick Koch for heading up the project, the Kenai City Council, Kenai Peninsula Borough, contractors, and volunteers for a fabulous end product. It touched my heart and soul as I was the physician present for the first KCHS football game held on the Wildwood Parade Ground in 1968, and served as football doctor the ensuing 15 years.
