Team effort shows pride in community

I had the opportunity on Labor Day to help with the delivery of several Jumpin’ Junction inflatables to the United Steel Workers celebration event, at KCHS. The KCHS football teams (Varsity and JV) were there, as a community service project, in place of practice that day. The team was eager to help in any way they could and worked together well, to assist folks setting up and taking down for the event. I got a real sense of camaraderie and teamwork from these young men. How refreshing to not see a single iphone or ipad out there ... the boys were just hanging out together as a team, helping get the work done and taking advantage of any opportunity to kid each other.

While I graduated from one of the other local high schools, and still bleed a light shade of blue, I am proud to have these kids as part of our community. Coach Beeson and staff have obviously instilled a sense of pride to wear the jersey, and be a team. I am sure that spirit will serve them well on the field and off. Go Kards!
