LeeShore grateful for community support

On behalf of the board of directors and staff of The LeeShore Center, I would like to say thank you to our community for their time and assistance to our agency during 2013.

During fiscal year 2013, over 1450 volunteer hours were given to our agency to assist with projects, awareness and funding events, in-school violence prevention education, general repairs and staff support.

Your continued support and caring makes a difference in the lives of victims experiencing domestic violence and sexual assault. With your help, The LeeShore Center provided emergency shelter to 155 women and children and transitional housing to 33 women and children. We answered 831 crisis calls and assisted over 33 new clients per month. We provided 140 Violence Prevention/Healthy Relationship presentations to 2,943 area youth (K-12). We assisted 761 families and individuals access to affordable child care. LeeShore also provided 88 re-education classes to men participating in our Batterer’s Intervention Program while providing 175 community education presentations and professional trainings to over 25,000 community members.

We are also very grateful to those who contributed direct services, financial assistance or donated in-kind items. Your donations and support help us ensure victim needs are met and program services are available.

Thank you for helping make our community a safer place to live. All of us at The LeeShore Center wish you a safe and peaceful holiday season and many blessings throughout the coming year!
