Tree clearing shouldn't be budget priority

Posted: December 27, 2013 - 8:28am

Governor Parnell wants to cut the State budget by $2 billion and Carl High wants DOT to spend all they can before it goes away. What is the deal? Is cutting the trees off the right-of-way more important than education, public safety or even the mess the dip netters leave at the mouth of the Kenai, Deep Creek or Ninilchik? Maybe if the State DOT has to cut all the trees off the ROW they should also keep our driveways clear on the ROW every time it snows 2 inches. Does public opinion mean anything to these money spenders? Who are they really working for?
