Valdez hospital staff glad to have been of service

During the early afternoon of Friday, Jan. 10, Providence Valdez Medical Center was notified of a bus accident at Mile 55 of the Richardson Highway. The school bus was carrying high school ski-team students and coaches from Kenai and Soldotna.

As the staff and physicians of our hospital received each of the 28 patients, they were acutely aware that behind each student was a host of family and friends, far from the scene, who were concerned for their loved ones.

To have these patients in our care was an honor. During a time of stress, everyone was calm and supportive of each other. We are honored to have been of service to those visiting our community. Please accept our best wishes for a safe and healthy 2014.
