Give peace a chance

The U.S. edition of the Feb. 27 Guardian reported on a press conference given by Secretary of State John Kerry on Wednesday. In this conference he decried what he called a “new isolationism” in the United States. He suggested “that the country is beginning to behave like a poor country” and cuts to the state department’s budget due to House Republican demands are hurting our peace efforts in Syria and Iran.

I believe the majority of Americans are smarter than Secretary Kerry assumes and they are moving to resist further waste of life and resources and shooting, bombing and killing people around the world. I want to live in peace with myself and people around the world and I do not want to be responsible anymore for the bullying, threatening and destruction of other people in other countries. Enough.

I want to see President Obama and Secretary Kerry stop threatening other countries that do not comply with their wishes and work harder for peaceful solutions to our problems at home and around the world. The same goes for Congress.

Americans deserve better from our elected officials.
