Border rules need better enforcement

Posted: June 20, 2014 - 8:44am

With little to do but watch TV I become amused at the pictures of all those children who have been invading the U.S. from neighboring countries to the south of us. Either my eyes are bad or something else is wrong. Most of the pictures I’ve seen are of people who are adults, maybe over 18 years of age, yet the news people all see them as children. Who is promoting and paying the way for them to come north? It would be of great interest to me.

Our Border Patrol has no direction about what to do, so let’s appoint a good general from the Army to hold some rough camping drills along the border and turn these people around, they are none of our responsibility. Our wonderful friend to the south will throw a person in prison if we cross the border, so let’s turn the rules around and enforce them like they should be. My America has became a very sickly run country.

Mr Morrison is 'amused' by people running for their lives.

Mr Morrison represents a generation rife with ethnocentric bigotry.

Later generations have evolved beyond simplistic xenophobia.

Mr Morrison should be ashamed, but he's likely not. His television viewing is likely to be limited to Fox News, where racism and bigotry is a part of the daily schedule.

The truth is that we need to

The truth is that we need to adopt the immigration laws of most other civilized countries and let people stay if the are educated and can contribute. What would Mexico do to floods of Americans into their country? I think we all know the answer to that!As far as jford is concerned, him and his ilk are why this country is circling the toilet bowl! You can tell he's a hardcore MSNBC watcher!

If these people are truly

If these people are truly running for their lives it's a very quiet problem.Seems to me they are running towards a welfare state for free stuff!

What things might seem to you isn't of any relevance,

you're as wrong about my viewing habits as you're wrong about most everything you've commented on.

Just talk and just your

Just talk and just your liberal views. It's a liberal who believes he's the only intelligent person out there and if you don't agree with him your racist, stupid, or uninformed.

As always-the superior attitude and nothing to go with it.We all should agree with you due to your quick wit and progressive(socialist) views.

Doesn't matter if you agree with me,

what matters is how wrong you were on the issue.

Solution to the immigration problem

Folks, We should get a plot of land in Mexico, erect a high fence around it and place guard towers on the corners and an office building also. Their every person can be fingerprinted and if they have no papers at least be identified as attempting to enter the US illegally so they can never receive any government services until they get a green card of full citizenship.
It's a simple process just to ship all of those caught back over the border and put them into the pen and let their government know that they are being held there and in need of food and transportation back home.

jford you're giving a great, longtime American company a bad name! Please shut the hell up! :-)

More bigotry, more racism, more xenophobia,

cap it all off with hypocrisy.

...let me guess, you vote Republican and reality doesn't enter into the forming of your opinions.

A steady diet of Fox News and right wing radio feeds you trumped up hate and misinformation and you lap it up without ever stopping to consider if any of it is documented, verifiable, or accurate. Let alone, ethical or moral.

Having been fed a steady diet of racism and bigotry, it's little wonder that you've adopted the same hate without any reservations.

Immigration reform that

Immigration reform that favors certain credentials (such as education or investment potential) could encourage more legal immigration, but what demand would it accommodate?

From what I understand, the demand for foreign labor within our borders isn't for people with education or money. (In fact, the EB-5 investor green card program maxxed out this year.) The real demand is for cheap farm labor, which is what so-called illegals from Latin America satisfy.

The situation in Texas and Arizona is indeed appalling. At this point, our country doesn't really want to forfeit those under-paid migrant workers, nor does it want to openly grant them citizenship and all the workers' rights that would come with it. So they settle for this fiasco.

Reform

Can not be to appalling.Texas-Red State,Arizona-Red State Problems? What problems? Go figure. The Corporations of those states especially the Agri -Corporations are making way to much money from the employ of underpaid, undocumented workers. So! This is going to continue as long as the rich continue to get richer off of the backs of the poor illegals. There must be a shortage of American field hands. So! There is work.If one really wants to work as a field hand.Would you?

The EB 5 program has nothing to do with immigrant labor.

The EB 5 program is for investors who create jobs for Americans through investments in new enterprises or existing businesses. Though there is talk of the program maybe exceeding some country quotas, and talk of large numbers of application, the program has never previously been maxed out. The rumors don't take into account that the number of applications isn't matched by the numbers of application approved. Large numbers of application don't equate to the same number of approvals.

The H-1B program brings in highly skilled workers and employer requests for skilled workers have exceeded the number of visas issued every year except from 2001 to 2003 when the annual cap was temporarily raised from 65,000 a year to 195,000 year.

and akmscott? I didn't say anything about everybody agreeing with me, I said you were wrong, Paul Morrison was wrong, and cheapersmokes was wrong. And when I say I don't watch MSNBC, that's not bristling, it's telling you I don't watch it.

The Promoters

The writer asked." Who is promoting, and paying the way for them to come North"? The question should have been . Who has the most to gain from such activity? The Corporations-WAL-MART,TYSON FOODS, Del Monte,Monsanto. These are just a few .Who have been making gains from undocumented, underpaid illegal aliens.their practices are nothing short of human trafficking.
Mr.Akmscott -I am also going to defend the fact that being of a Progressive point of view.Does not make one a Socialist.Defining the two. PROGRESSIVE -That progresses,or moves forward or onward;advancing;-opposed to retrograde.
SOCIALIST- One who practices the doctrine of Socialism
SOCIALISM-A political, and economic theory of social organization based on collective or,governmental ownership and democratic management of essential means for the production and distribution of goods ;also,a policy,or practice based on this theory. Collectivism,Fabianism,Marxism,Bolshevism,Communism So! Akmscott- You are so wrong in your assumption that Progressives equate to Socialists. Maybe this will help you differentiate between the two.

Illegals

Jford, I don't vote Republican nor Democrat...I am a co founder of the Minnesota Reform Party and always look at who is the best person for the position....most times I do have to hold my nose while in the polling booth. I haven't listened to any talk radio in over 25 years and turn on FOX News for less than one hour a week. But I do find them willing and able to report on both sides of the issues and not try and hide those issues which don't back up their views and positions! Why don't you look at the ratings of the Cable channels and you will see just how popular your MSNBC actually is and the more you complain and attempt to put down FOX News the more eyes your driving to the show that is if anyone in this readership would actually pay any attention to anything you posted.

When is your campaign kickoff event since someone as smart as you surely must be approached hundreds of time a week to run for either a Borough of Legislative position and straighten out the local or states problems! Please post the date/time and location and please make it your final post to these boards!

None of which justifies your bigotry and xenophobia,

Racism of any kind and blind hate for another country's people is wrong.

Promoting genocide is wrong.

Promoting nuclear attack on sovereign nations is wrong.
……...(not to mention, exceedingly crazy)

You'll have to try to fool someone else about your self proclaimed 'credentials'. In reading the annals of the Reform party of Minnesota your name didn't come up.

Although, as to how you vote or what you claim for politics, I especially enjoyed reading the various posts you left on Sarah Palin's site. Or, that patriot site you visit, the comments about Clipper owner Sterling and LaBraun James are certainly revealing. Or the time you got mad at Karl Rove for dissing birthers, that was sweet. The whitehouse.gov rants tell more than you might think. Your attempt to defend Wazzub got you banned? More foul language, or was it the scam component that did it?. I love the hotel reviews you post. The manager is like a horny toad? Really? The Gaylord post is an exemplary effort on your part. That ups the bigotry quotient, doesn't it. And you do get around, one day you're an Alaskan the next you're a Minnesotan, or vice versa.

Keep watching Fox news, studies show that the viewers of Fox news are more misinformed than people who don't watch any news shows at all.

More Delusion

Some people would rather climb a tree to tell a lie, than stand on the ground to tell the truth.

May 26
"The AP and Weather Channel has dropped the ball big time. The Kenai Peninsula of Alaska has been fighting a very large forest fire now for about 4 days and not one word of it here in the lower 48 states. It has consumed over 550,000 acres already and is now approaching some very populated areas with many, many families forced to evacuate and go to shelters and only hope and pray so please while you're enjoying your Memorial day activities please say a prayer for those fighting these fires. They have over 100,000 firefighters, numerous tanker planes and even helicopters with water buckets to help but high and variable winds are preventing containing the fire. This is currently less than 15 miles from where I will be moving this year."
