Medevac pilot worthy of recognition

The U.S. Army Medevac Pilot (Peninsula Clarion, March 22) is Captain William Keller (not Kelter), and yes he hails from Soldotna. He has served 3 combat tours as an Army Blackhawk Dustoff Pilot.

He has flown dangerous missions to help rescue wounded soldiers. He had a smile on his face when he showed me around his aircraft. I believe his smile came from a mixture of pride and relief. Pride in being able to share with others what he and his brave crew have been involved with when on deployment. Relief in knowing that on the practice missions he flew, there were no hostiles trying to kill him. Captain Keller, thank you for your service. Your accomplishments are worthy of recognition.
