Job fair connects employers, employees

Peninsula Job Center Staff extends a big thank you to all the employers who attended the Annual 2016 Peninsula Job and Career Fair. There were 46 employers and 645 job seekers in attendance.

Our gratitude goes out to our sponsors who helped provide a location, supplies, advertisement, food, and refreshments: John Crump with Denali Commercial, Soldotna Chamber of Commerce, Kenai Chamber of Commerce, Alaska Small Business Association, Peninsula Clarion, and Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development. Additionally, we would like to thank the US Marines for assisting with the setup of the job fair, and Safeway, Sweeney’s, North Peninsula Fire Department and Fred Meyers for advertising the job fair on their reader boards. This event would not have been a success without your community support.

We especially would like to acknowledge all of the employers and training providers who participated in the job fair: Fred Meyer, Frontier Community Service, Seaview Community Services, Cook Inlet RCAC, Local 367 Plumbers and Steamfitters, Beacon, Northern Industrial Training, Peninsula Community Health Services, Waste Connections, Anchorage Police Department, UAS School of Management, Kenai Peninsula College, Snug Harbor Seafood’s, First Student, Hope Community Resources, US Marines, State of Alaska Juvenile Justice, Westwards Seafood’s, Central Peninsula Hospital, AVTEC, Tesoro, Pacific Star Seafood’s, Office Tech USA, Kenai Peninsula Community Care Center, Walmart, North Pacific Star/Inlet Seafood’s, Great Pacific Seafood’s, Rescare, Safeway, Leeshore Center, ARCCATT, Kenaitze Indian Tribe, Alaska Army National Guard, AT&T, Copper River Seafood’s, Alaska Division of Forestry, Peninsula Clarion, US Navy, City of Kenai, Governor’s Council for Disabilities, Icicle Seafood’s, Amundsen Learning Center and IBEW.
