Veteran supports Stock for Senate

Fellow Alaskans, we have the most amazing opportunity to elect an experienced, qualified person as our next US Senator on November 8, Margaret Stock. She is an Independent, so her votes will not be dictated by a party, but by the will of the Alaskan people. Margaret does not accept corporate PAC donations so she doesn’t owe favors to special interests.

As a retired U.S. Army veteran, the number one reason I support Margaret Stock is because of her exceptional knowledge and experience in immigration law and national security. These are two of the top issues facing our great country and both must be dealt with in the next Congress. As one of our nation’s foremost experts on national security and immigration law, Margaret has testified before Congress, helped draft legislation and has worked with the Pentagon. In 2013, Margaret was awarded the MacArthur “Genius” Fellowship for the development and implementation of the MAVNI (Military Accessions Vital to the National Interest) program, which allows legal non-citizens with highly needed skills to join the Army in exchange for U.S. citizenship, and the program has been highly successful. The MAVNI program was initiated in 2008 with the cooperation of the Department of Homeland Security and Department of Defense. Margaret also created a legal assistance program to help military families with limited means get access to legal services they needed.

Margaret has lived in Alaska for 30 years, is a retired Lt. Col. from the Army Reserve, and she taught national security law, constitutional and military law at West Point. Margaret currently practices immigration law in Anchorage, but would like to serve Alaskans and Americans in the US Senate.

Let’s give her that chance; vote for Margaret Stock for US Senate on November 8.
