Issues faced by poor and homeless children are a major concern all over the U.S.  In spending a few winters near Phoenix, Ariz., they had a school for over 400 homeless children where they did not have to be subjected to the ridicule of children of means.

My understanding is that the Justice Department under the management of Attorney General Eric Holder decided to drop the indictment and prosecution of Bill Allen for alleged sex crimes involving sex with minors and the transportation of minors across state lines for sexual purposes. When queried by our Senator Lisa Murkowski about that decision, Eric Holder stated that " I am confident that the appropriate guidelines were followed in making that decision."

Both superior court and district court judges will sit on a civil case for up to 10 years and some cases even more. All this time they are drawing wages from the State to make themselves rich at the expense of defendants and plaintiffs. Then, they complain about the backlog of cases so that the state will hire more judges and build more court houses. The system is broke and out of control. There is no oversight.

Meanwhile lawyers for defendants and plaintiffs are each collecting up to $10,000 a year from their clients — sometimes much, much more.

The Halloween Trunk Or Treat in Kasilof was a big success. Cohoe FireWise and the Kasilof Eagles annually provide this safe and supervised opportunity with the support of many volunteers. There were well over 100 kids and at least 10 Trunks, with approx. 69 vehicles that delivered kids.
