My family has been on the peninsula for many years.  I think the main reason we have stayed for generations is that it's a great place to raise a family and live.  People and communities are important.  Mike Navarre is the Mayor that will help sustain and improve the borough, and that is why I am voting for him and urge you to do the same on Tuesday.

In response to Marion Nelson's previous letter to the editor (Oct. 12) making a pitch for Mike Navarre for borough mayor, she claims, according to Mike Navarre, that by pouring more money per student into the education of that student produces a more intelligent student. That is a slap in the face to all the educators and school systems thirty, forty, or even a hundred years who only had a fraction of today's funds to work with, and produced brighter more intellectual students. There has to be a limit on money wasted on education. Fred is not afraid to honestly address this.

On behalf of the Kenai Football Booster I would like to thank everyone who made our season a tremendous success. From the volunteers, community support, Kenai students, the coaches and last but not least our Kenai Kardinal Football team! You all played with tremendous heart and determination. You believed and achieved! Congratulations on being 2011 State Champions!

Throughout this campaign you have referred to all of the meetings that you have attended over the years and boasted that possibly nobody goes to more. Many who are involved know your history of showing up for meeting in protest of introduced policy. To this I ask: What board or committees have you served, to aid in the development of policy for our community? What elected councils, boards or assemblies? For instance: Fire Service, Hospital, City Council, HEA, Borough or School? What is your experience on volunteer committees?
