With former Kenai mayor John Williams behind the wheel and former Kenai assistant fire chief Jim Doyle riding in the back as Grand Marshal, a newly restored fire engine — built in 1941 and in service in Kenai's fire department until 1974 — rolls through the Fourth of July parade on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 in Kenai, Alaska. In late 2015 Williams began soliciting funds to restore the fire engine with assistance from Pollard Wireline, Alyeska Tire, RPM's automotive shop, GLM turbines, and other local businesses and groups. The restoration was recently finished.
