SoHi softball tops Skyview

The Soldotna softball team defeated Skyview 12-0 in 3 1-2 innings Monday in Northern Lights Conference action at Guy and Judy Hayes Field in Soldotna. SoHi is now 7-6 overall and 5-1 in the league.

Nikki Hegge and Briana VinZant combined to shut out the Panthers. Each pitched two innings and did not give up a hit. Hegge struck out one and walked none, while VinZant struck out four and walked two.

VinZant was 3-for-3 with three runs and three stolen bases at the plate. Also for the Stars, Amandra Cobb was 2-for-2 with two runs and Kaycee Munn was 2-for-2 with a run.

SoHi plays at Kenai on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
