Carver wins Donnie Morgan Tourney at Kenai Golf Course

Wade comes up just short in playoff

Tommy Carver won the Donnie Morgan Tournament on Sunday at Kenai Golf Course with a two-day total of 16-over-par 160.

Carver won the tournament, which serves as the club championship for Kenai Golf Course, in a one-hole playoff over Jesse Wade.

Wade had a net score of 144 to win that category. Ryan Hardy was second at 145.

Carver led the tournament after the first day with a 76. However, his 84 on Sunday let the field back into the tournament.

Wade fired an 80 on Saturday and an 80 on Sunday to make the playoff. After shooting an 84 on Saturday, Chris Murray came back with a 77 on Sunday to miss the playoff by a stroke.

Ken Liedes, who shot 78 on Saturday to enter Sunday in second place, had an 85 on Sunday. Liedes and Gordon Griffin tied for fourth place with two-day totals of 163.
