Having argued against this noise maker all winter and into Spring, it was disappointing to hear them scream into the night until 9:00 pm last Saturday without mufflers! Yea they are real cool and can make all the noise they want at the TCR. After several events this summer with muffled cars the difference was very noticeable. Is this a preview of things to come? The lack of respect for people and their property bye both the TCRL and our own City Council goes unchecked. Mufflers would just be a very audible courtesy done for the neighbors. It is clear these racers choose to be as loud as possible even when challenged by concerned neighbors. It is offensive to make this much noise for your recreational fun! It also happens to be against legal standards for any Civic or Local Governments to allow anything under their control to cause harm and injury or interfere with the normal use and enjoyment of a neighbors legal use of their property. When faced with open criticism for making to much noise it is just disrespect to not care. Our City council has planning and zoning responsibility as well as power. It is clearly time to exercise that responsibility as well as this kind of nuisance noise. The grump on Dolchok
Mufflers?
FYI Race cars have never ever used mufflers. I don't know how the noise can be any different now from before. The race track has been there since the early 70's... maybe by now the neighbors should just accept that it's there. I feel 11 or 12 days out of 365 it totally not something to complain about. There is way more out there to put your efforts into complaining about.
Waaaa!!
Quit your cry babying, if you dont like it move! Would you rather have them racing on a track or down your road? Also the noise disturbance doesnt take effect untill 10:00 pm! This is Alaska one of the last places people still have some freedom! Dont take anymore away from us!
