Roundup: Kenai, Skyview football win; Seward loses

Jasen Suonvieri rushed for three touchdowns to lead the host Skyview football team past South's junior varsity squad 47-0 in a nonconference win on homecoming Saturday afternoon.

 

Suonvieri carried the ball 12 times for 123 yards, scoring on carries of 7, 17 and 25 yards. Teammate TJ Checketts added 13 carries for 125 yards and two touchdowns, scoring from 18 and 12 yards.

The Panthers led 47-0 at halftime.

Skyview hosts Homer at 6 p.m. Friday.

Kenai Central 42, Kodiak 7
The Kardinals scored 35 unanswered points to beat the hosts in Northern Lights Conference play Saturday.

Kenai Central broke a two-game losing streak, moving to 3-2 overall and 2-0 in the conference. Kodiak, losers of two straight, drops to 2-2 overall and 2-2 in the NLC.

Joe Sandahl and AJ Hull had two rushing touchdown apiece to pace the Kardinals, while Daniel Carlson returned an inerception 26 yards for a score. Tory Fitzpatrick got the Kards on the board when he hauled in a 24-yard pass from Hull in the first quarter.

Houston 38, Seward 0
The Hawks had no trouble in nonconference action against the Seahawks, who drop to 0-5 overall.

Seward visits Delta at 5 p.m. Friday.
