Kenai netters drop a pair on road

Kards fall to Houston, Eagle River

The Kenai Central volleyball team dropped road matches to Houston on Friday and Eagle River on Saturday.

 

The loss to Houston was by scores of 25-8, 25-11, 18-25 and 25-10. Against Eagle River, the scores were 25-10, 25-10 and 25-21.

Kenai Central has yet to win a match this season.
Coach John Kennedy said the team's biggest issue is on service-receives.

"We are struggling with it, there's no other way to put it," Kennedy said. "We set the other team up better than they set themselves up."

Justice English had 15 assists and four kills against Houston, while Jodi Cook added five kills. Briana King posted 10 service points - four on aces.

King notched four kills against Eagle River. Cook finished with three kills. Cassie Ross tallied 20 digs.

Next up for Kenai Central is a Dig Pink match Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Soldotna.
