Spurgeon, Johnson, Eide excel at King of the Mountain

3 Nikiski wrestlers win at meet's final dual

Several wrestlers from the Kenai Peninsula made their way into the final dual at King of the Mountain wrestling tournament in Seward on Saturday.


There were no team scores kept at the tournament, which was held Friday and Saturday. After a series of dual meets, the best wrestlers met in the final dual.

Nikiski’s Kaden Spurgeon at 152, Lincoln Johnson at 182 and Henry Eide at heavyweight won their matches in the final dual.

Also from the Bulldogs, Dakota Neely lost in the final dual at 113.

From Skyview, Hannah Hutchison (106) and Sam Janorschke (132) lost in the final dual. From Seward, Sam Rininger (160) lost in the final dual.

Michael Ace of Valdez was named the tournament’s most outstanding wrestler.
