Nikiski hosts Dillingham, Unalaska in exhibition dual meet

The Nikiski wrestling team hosted an exhibition dual with Dillingham and Unalaska on Thursday.

Dylan Hooper, Nikiski athletic director, said in an email there were not enough wrestlers to fill each weight class, so the teams combined athletes to fill out the scorecard.

A winner was not declared because the three teams competed in a single dual, which usually involves just two teams going head-to-head.

The Bulldogs host the Peninsula Duals, which also includes Homer, Skyview, Soldotna and Kenai Central, on Friday and Saturday.

For the Bulldogs on Thursday, Shawn Burdick earned a win in the 106-pound weight class, while teammates Dakoda Neely (113), Trey Zimmerman (120), Walter Moore (132), Avery Olson (138), Mike Stangel (145), Kaden Spurgeon (152), Corey Green (160), Dylan Berry (170) and Henry Eide (heavyweight) also earned wins.

Neely, Moore, Stangel, Spurgeon and Eide each won by pin.
