Seward netters take 4th at state

The Seward volleyball team closed the Class 3A state tournament with consecutive victories at the Curtis D. Menard Memorial Sports Center in Wasilla, earning fourth place for the second consecutive season.

Seward dropped its first-round contest Thursday to Dillingham before coming back to beat Eielson in three games on Friday and Petersburg in five on Saturday.

The scores against Eielson were 25-16, 25-19 and 25-20. The tally against Petersburg was 25-23, 19-25, 28-26, 23-25 and 15-11.

Mt. Edgecumbe swept defending state champion Grace Christian to claim the top spot. Dillingham swept Valdez in the match for third place.
