Kailey Mucha leads area skiers at 1st Besh Cup

Kenai Central graduate Kailey Mucha finished 10th in Junior 1 and older sprint action on Saturday at Kincaid Park in Anchorage in the first Besh Cup action of the season.
Also from the Kenai Peninsula in that race, Soldotna High School’s Bree Mucha was 20th and Homer graduate Erika Klaar was 32nd.
In the Junior 1 and older men’s races, Soldotna graduate Brent Knight led the Peninsula by finishing 11th, while Cook Inlet Academy graduate Lars Arneson was 17th, Homer’s Andre Lovett was 41st, Soldotna’s Dillon Jensen was 57th, Soldotna’s Lucas Michael was 64th and Skyview graduate Noah King was 65th.
In the Junior 2 girls sprint, Homer’s Cassidy Soistman was 11th, SoHi’s Sadie Fox was 13th and Kenai’s Kirsten Nyquist was 21st.
In the Junior 2 boys sprint, area skier Levi Michael was 30th.
In the Junior 3 girls sprint, Homer’s Mia Alexson was 12th.
The Junior 4 girls sprint was won by local skier Addison Gibson. In the Junior 4 boys sprint, local skier Jeremy Kupferschmid finished sixth.
