SoHi grad Knight takes 6th in Besh Cup race

Soldotna High School graduate Brent Knight finished sixth in the Junior 1 and older men’s 15-kilometer classic race on Sunday at Beach Lake Trails in Chugiak in Besh Cup racing.
Knight finished in 41 minutes, 49.6 seconds, while David Norris won in 40:14.5. Also from the Kenai Peninsula, Cook Inlet Academy graduate Lars Arneson was 19th, SoHi’s Lucas Michael was 62nd, SoHi’s Dillon Jensen was 70th, Skyview graduate Noah King was 81st and Homer’s Andre Lovett was 84th.
In the Junior 1 and older women’s 10-kilometer race, Kenai Central graduate Kailey Mucha paced the Peninsula by finishing 26th. Also from the Peninsula, SoHi’s Bree Mucha was 47th.
In the Junior 2 and 3 girls five-kilometer race, Homer’s Cassidy Soistman was 19th, Kenai’s Kirsten Nyquist was 23rd, Soldotna’s Sadie Fox was 27th and Soldotna’s Hannah Pothast was 31st.
In the Junior 2 and 3 boys five-kilometer race, Soldotna’s Levi Michael was 40th.
In the girls Junior 4 and 5 two-kilometer race, area skier Addison Gibson was second. In the boys Junior 4 and 5 two-kilometer race, Soldotna’s David Michael was fourth.
