Homer cagers split in Nome

The Homer girls and boys basketball teams split at the Nome Subway Showdown on Thursday.

 

The Homer boys edged Bethel 63-61 behind 25 points from Dyllan Day.

The game featured a lot of 3-point marksmenship, with each team hitting nine 3-pointers. Day had seven treys. Robin Glosser added 12 for Homer, while Sam Reinhart had 10 points.

For Bethel, Theodore Nanenga had 24 points, Carlie Romer had 18 points and Austin Miller added 13 points.

The Homer girls lost to Point Hope 57-33. Tayla Cabana had 11 points for Homer, while Point Hope had a balanced attack. Chelsea Tooyak had 16 points, Abbie Koenig had 14 points, Amanda Sage had 12 points and Caroline Long had 10 points.
