Homer boys take 2nd at Nome tourney

The Homer girls and boys basketball teams finished up play at the Nome Subway Showdown on Saturday.

The Homer boys defeated Point Hope 66-61 to take second place in the tournament. Nome took first. Dyllan Day and Robin Glosser had 17 points apiece for Homer, while Sam Reinart added 11. For Point Hope, Denzel Tooyak had 41 points, while Jermaine Johnson had 10.

The Homer girls lost to Bethel 47-26. Kira Polk had 14 points for Bethel, while Christina McElwee added 11. Elissa Tutt paced Homer with 12 points.

Nome also took first in the girls tournament, while Point Hope was second.

Robin Glosser made the all-tournament team for the Mariners.
