Seward girls, ACS boys nab Southcentral wins

The Seward and Anchorage Christian Schools basketball teams split a pair of Southcentral Conference games Tuesday in Seward.

The Seward girls notched a 52-47 overtime victory over the Lions. Seward led 21-14 at halftime but ACS cut into the lead in the second half and tied the game at 43 at the end of regulation. Seward won the overtime 9-4.

Meg Berry had 15 points for the Seahawks, while Sarah Geagel paced the Lions with 21 points.

In the boys game, ACS notched a 78-68 victory. Gus Simmers had 25 points for ACS, while Calvin Hoffman had 22 points, Alex Brown had 14 points and Nate Simmers had 10 points.

For the Seahawks, Matthew Moore had 19 points, Jeff Buchanan had 18 points and Jalen Terry added 12 points.
