Muchas both nab top 10s at Sunday Besh Cup

Kailey finishes 2nd

Both Kailey Mucha, a graduate of Kenai Central, and Bree Mucha, a Soldotna High skier, finished in the top 10 in Besh Cup freestyle racing in Homer on Sunday.

 

In the Junior 2 and older five-kilometer race, Kailey finished second. Finishing at 17 minutes, 38.20 seconds, she was far behind winner Becca Rorabaugh and her time of 16:21.60. Bree finished seventh.

Also from the Kenai Peninsula in that race, Homer High’s Kaya Morelli was 42nd, Homer High’s Marie Schmidt was 43rd, SoHi’s Sadie Fox was 46th, Kenai’s Kirsten Nyquist was 48th, Homer’s Cassidy Soistman was 51st, Homer’s Mady Gerard was 58th, Homer’s Alaine Miller was 61st, Homer’s Emily Schmidt was 64th and Homer’s Katie Schmidt was 70th.

In the men’s Junior 1 and older 10-kilometer race, SoHi’s Dillon Jensen led the peninsula by finishing 21st. Also from the peninsula, Homer’s Andre Lovett was 26th, Skyview graduate Noah King was 37th, SoHi’s Lucas Michael was 49th, Homer’s Louis Maurer was 52nd, SoHi’s Colton Diehl was 53rd, Homer’s Kyle Wentz was 63rd and Kenai’s Brad Nyquist was 66th.

In the boys Junior 2 five-kilometer race, area skier Levi Michael took 27th.

In the boys Junior 3 three-kilometer race, area skier Jeremy Kupferschmid was 16th and area skier David Michael was 19th.

In the girls Junior 3 three-kilometer race, area skier Aziza Shemet Pitcher was 14th and area skier Mia Alexson took 15th.
