Staff report
The Cook Inlet Academy girls stayed perfect in the Peninsula Conference this season by picking up a 50-37 victory over host Nikolaevsk on Tuesday.
CIA led 8-6 after the first quarter, but had a 27-17 lead by halftime. Megan Bauder poured in 23 points for the Eagles, while Kelsie Leaf had 14 points for CIA.
For Nikolaevsk, Kilina Klaich and Sophia Kalugin each had 11 points.
Nikolaevsk boys 51, CIA 39
The host Warriors used a 21-11 advantage in the first quarter to key a Peninsula Conference victory over the Eagles.
Andre Tipikin was the key to that first quarter and to the game for Nikolaevsk. He had 30 points, 12 of which came in the first quarter. Anthony Yakunin added 10 for the Warriors.
For CIA, David Reischach had 19 points.
