Hakkinen takes 25th in pursuit

Kasilof biathlete Jay Hakkinen took 25th place in a 12.5-kilometer World Cup pursuit Saturday in Oslo, Norway.

Hakkinen started the race in 24th place. He had three misses on the range to fall to 25th, finishing at 34 minutes, 46.7 seconds. He was 3:02.7 behind winner Arnd Peiffer of Germany.

Overall, it was a great day for the U.S. team. Tim Burke led the Americans with a sixth-place finish, moving up from 15th, while Lowell Bailey was 12th.
