Besh Cup wraps up in Fairbanks

The Besh Cup held its sixth race of the year Sunday in Fairbanks.

 

In the Older Junior girls 10-kilometer race, Bree Mucha finished fourth with a time of 33 minutes, 32.9 seconds. Hannah Boyer won the race at 33:00.9.

Mucha earned a spot on Team Alaska at the 2012 Junior National Championships, which will take place from March 5 to 10 in Soldier Hollow, Utah.

In the Junior 2 girls five-kilometer freestyle race, Sadie Fox of Soldotna High School finished eighth with a time of 18:03.7.

Fox earned a spot on the Arctic Winter Games squad, which will take place in March in Whitehorse, Yukon. Homer’s Cassidy Soistman is an alternate.

In the Junior 1 boys 10-kilometer race, SoHi's Lucas Michael took 14th in 30:52.2. Michael also made the Arctic Winter Games squad.
