Seward girls make Peninsula Conference title game

Seward boys, Nikiski girls, Nikiski boys all lose

The Seward girls will play in the Southcentral Conference Championship game after a 53-47 win over Cordova on Thursday at ACS.

Meg Berry scored 17 points to lead Seward, while teammate Jessica Stallings had 15.

The Seahawks actually trailed at halftime by a point, but outscored Cordova 12-5 in the third quarter. 

Misa Webber had 21 points to lead Cordova.

ACS boys 68, Cordova 50

The Anchorage Christian School boys knocked off Cordova to advance in the Southcentral Conference tournament Thursday at ACS.

Calvin Hoffman had 22 points to lead ACS, and teammate Augustus Simmers had 18 points.

Keith Nolan paced Cordova with 18 points.

Grace Christian boys 54, Seward 48

The Grizzlies, the No. 3 seed, knocked off the defending champion Seahawks, the No. 2 seed, Thursday.

Seward trailed 40-28 heading into the final quarter and was unable to complete the comeback.

Joe McGlaughlin had 22 points to lead the Grizzlies, while Matthew Moore had 15 points, and Jalen Terry added 14 points, for Seward.

Grace moves to today’s 7 p.m. championship. Seward will play Nikiski in a loser-out game at 4 p.m. today.

Cordova girls 44, Nikiski 27

The Wolverines, the No. 4 seed, topped the No. 5-seeded Bulldogs to move into a semifinal contest against Seward.

Nikiski led 14-10 at halftime, but was outscored 34-13 in the second half.

Angie Kelly had 13 points to lead Cordova, while Misa Webber pitched in 11.

For Nikiski, Alyssa Darch led scorers with six points.

The Nikiski girls play Grace Christian in a loser-out game today at 2:30 p.m.

Cordova boys 59, Nikiski 50

The Wolverines, the No. 5 seed, topped No. 4 seed Nikiski behind a strong second quarter.

Cordova had a 12-10 lead after the first quarter, but then outscored the Bulldogs 19-9 in the second quarter.

William Roemhildt and Keith Nolan each had 17 points for Cordova. Nikiski received 24 points from Lucan Herrin, while Colton Anderson had 13 points.

Nikiski plays Seward in a loser-out game at 4 p.m. today.

ACS girls 58, Grace 45

The second-seeded Lions notched a semifinal victory over the third-seeded Grizzlies on Thursday.

Dallas Dickerson had 17 points to lead Grace, while Sarah Geagel had 14 points and Lillian Crayton added 12.

Virginia Dupea had 13 points for Grace.
