Hakkinen takes 91st at World Championships

Kasilof biathlete Jay Hakkinen took 91st place in the 10-kilometer sprint at the World Championships in Ruhpolding, Germany, on Saturday.

Hakkinen was hurt by missing four of his five shots in the first shooting stage. He finished in 28 minutes, 37 seconds, which was 4:18.4 behind winner Martin Fourcade of France.

The United States did place two in the top 20, with Tim Burke taking 10th and Lowell Bailey taking 20th.
