Hakkinen 31st in Germany

Peninsula skier Jay Hakkinen finished 31st out of 135 racers Tuesday in the 20-kilometer individual biathlon event in Ruhpolding, Germany. Hakkinen was dealt two penalties for missed shots, and finished with a time of 50 minutes, 6 seconds, 3:17 behind winner Jakov Fak of Slovenia. Fak had one penalty to finish with a time of 46:48.
