Soldotna skier Bree Mucha finished 31st out of 43 skiers in the Older Junior division Friday at the Junior Olympic Championships in Soldier Hollow, Utah. Mucha finished the five-kilometer, classic-style race in 16 minutes, 26 seconds, which was 1:42 behind race winner Rachel Hall of the New England region.
On Saturday, Mucha finished off her week of racing with a 10th-place result in the team relays. She teamed with fellow Alaskans Kryston McPhetres and Amanda DelFrate in the three-by-three-kilometer event. They finished with a time of 20 minutes, 58 seconds, which was 58 seconds behind the Mountain West winning team of Sharmila Ahmed, Alice Flanders and Elizabeth Simak. Mucha’s split time was 7:07.
