Skyview graduate O'Guinn sets UAA record

Ivy O’Guinn, a graduate of Skyview High School, set a University of Alaska Anchorage record in the 1,500-meter run Thursday at the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif.

O’Guinn finished at 4 minutes, 28.26 seconds, beating Miriam Kipng’eno’s previous record of 4:30.36.

O’Guinn finished 48th at the prestigious relays with her record-breaking time.

O’Guinn’s time also provisionally qualified her for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships in Pueblo, Colo., from May 24 to 26.
