Kenai baseball beats Homer 4-1

Kenai eased to a 4-1 win over the visiting Homer Mariners Tuesday.
Miles Jones pitched the first three innings, giving up one hit, one run, and earning one strikeout.
Dallas Pierren pitched three innings as well, with no runs, one hit, and three strikeouts, and AJ Hull pitched the last inning, striking out two players, while recording no hits or runs.
“It’s a nice thing,” Kenai coach John Kennedy said. “We didn’t hit that well, but the team was able to minimize the damage, and take advantage of errors.”
Hector Rivera batted two hits for four at-bats, which led to one run and two stolen bases.
Ethan Oliver went one for three, including one run, AJ Hull went one for one, with one run, one RBI and two stolen bases, and Alex Nason went one for two with an RBI.
The win now gives Kenai a 4-0 overall record, and 3-0 in the conference. They will travel to Palmer to play the Moose Friday at 7 p.m.
Homer will play Kodiak Friday at 5 p.m.
