Homer softball defeats Skyview

The visiting Homer softball team notched a 23-6 victory over Skyview in four innings Thursday in Northern Lights Conference play.

The Panthers are now 0-3 in the league and 0-4 overall. Homer moved to 4-0 in the league and 6-2 overall.

Skyview coach Steve Schoessler said his team played better than in a previous lost to Homer. He said his team only struck out twice.

Sam Reynolds was 2 for 3 and had two runs, while Cat Schoessler was 3 for 3 with a double and a triple.

Schoessler also said Reynolds pitched really well, considering the cold weather.

“In the fourth inning, when they were racking up a bunch of runs against us, I looked up, and only saw three girls on the field who have played more than two years.” Schoessler said.

The Stars and Panthers play at the Soldotna Little League fields at 6 p.m.
