SoHi baseball rallies to beat Colony

The Soldotna Stars notched a thrilling 2-1 comeback win over Colony Friday evening on the road.
The Knights scored an unearned run in the second inning off of an error, and that left Soldotna with a 1-0 deficit heading into the sixth inning.
Jarrett Urban walked to first base after he was hit by the pitch on his turn at bat, which led to Tyler Marcuson batting.
Marcuson hit the ball down the third base line, but the attempted double play was botched, and that left Urban at third.
Shane Miller then hit a bunt down to first base, which brought in Urban to score the tying run, and when Gavin Larson stepped up to bat, he hit the ball down the right field line, and Marcuson scored the winning run.
“To have Shane hit that bunt and get that run is phenomenal,” Soldotna assistant coach Mike Griffin said. “And then Gavin Larson hits that drive down the line, it was great.”
Urban ended up hitting one for two, equal to Larson. Jake Darrow hit one for four, including two stolen bases, and Mitchel Daugherty earned one hit for three.
Max Hegge pitched three innings for the Stars, with no strikeouts, two walks, three hits, one unearned run, and pitched 49 times.
Max Conradi pitched three innings with four strikouts, no walks, two hits, no runs, and 45 pitches, and Tyler Marcuson pitched one inning for no runs, one walk, and one hit for 17 pitches.
Kodiak 9, Homer 2
The host Bears notched a Southcentral Conference victory on Friday over the Mariners.
Kodiak pitcher Brandon Mahle had a complete-game, three-hitter. The junior struck out 10 and did not walk a batter in 96 pitches. He also had three singles and two RBIs.
The Mariners tied the game at 2 in the top of the sixth when Kodiak first baseman couldn’t control a hot shot off the bat of Dylan Morrison, allowing Brian Rowe to score.
In the bottom of the sixth, Kodiak scored seven runs on six hits against Homer reliever Lucas Schneider.
Zack Haning had two hits for Homer.
Kodiak improved to 3-3 in the conference and 3-3 overall.
