Colony beats Wasilla for Southcentral title

Jonathan Boyer pitched the Knights to a win in the Southcentral Conference championship game Friday at Seymour Park.

Boyer pitched all seven innings and gave up a run on eight hits while striking out two.

Wasilla took a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning, but Colony answered with three runs on four hits in the bottom of the fourth.

Those runs came off of Tyler Boensch, who took the loss. Boensch lasted four innings, giving up three runs on five hits while striking out four and walking none.

Ian Stormont came on for Wasilla in the fifth inning and gave up three more runs on just two hits as Colony took a 6-1 lead.

Ian Zwink pitched a scoreless sixth for Wasilla.

The Warriors face the Kenai-Soldotna winner in the 1 p.m. Saturday game at Seymour Park that will determine second place and the Southcentral's final state berth.
