Racing opens at Twin Cities

Kenai’s Twin City Raceway put on its Opening Night event last Saturday, May 26, and the action didn’t disappoint.

In the A-Stock category event, Jake Savely won the first two heat races, but had problems in the feature race. Daren DeVaney won the feature.

In the B-Stock events, Bill Williams and Richard McGahan each had a win in the heat races, but Butch Savely came away with the feature win.

In the Late Model division, Joey Essex came away with the easy victory in the one and only heat race.

Finally, in the Mini-Stock division, Carl Liebes swept all three races — both heats and the feature — to take the trifecta.

Racing will resume at the speedway on Saturday, June 9th.
