Kenai Golf Course continues to improve daily

The season continues to progress nicely. As the weather gets warmer, the course gets greener and in better playing condition each day. The greens are really filling in and rolling well. The few dead spots are disappearing. The greens have been split seeded and overseeded, and have received a second application of fertilizer. They have also been cut shorter this week. Players were surprised with the increase in speed. Please join me in asking the golf gods for warmer temps and a nice warm rain in the evenings hours, stopping at 6am. Hah! That isn’t asking for too much, is it?  In any event, you will be surprised at the great condition of our greens. Dusty and Willy have done a great job. Give them a pat on the back when you see them.

Work continues on the right hand side of green #2. We are mounding that area to cover stumps and roots. This will provide for some interesting shots and better playing conditions. Shane Zimmerman has completed his work in this area. Now Dusty and Willy will begin the packing process. Great job, guys. It really looks good. Work has been completed on the right hand side of #13 green. Grow, grass, grow.
