Well, it is a gray, gloomy day, but I went out and hacked around a few holes with my younger brother, who is up here visiting from Red Lodge, Mont. It was drizzling rain but really not cold. We had a great time and I won’t say which way our quarter went.
Most of the Bird Cup rounds are completed and we are about ready for the playoffs. That should be fun.
Men’s Night just continues to amaze me. What a great bunch of guys have been showing up. Thirty-two golfers teed off Tuesday night and the report that I got was they all had a great time.
We had that top-of-the-hill chip-off with two teams 4-under. The team of Trevor Baldwin, Scott Sundberg, C.J. Henley and Mark Orth beat out Roy Bird, Ed Marshall, Marty Radvansky and Rob Robertson.
C.J. hit a great shot that the other team thought was short. It made that perfect hop and was the only ball on the green. Good job, C.J.
Closest to the pin on No. 6 was C.J. and closest to on No. 8 was Walt Kreger. Trevor Hordeman took double honors with long drive and pure birdie. Join the guys at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday evening.
We didn’t have a tournament this week but enjoyed seeing all of the golfers who came out just to have fun.
The Moose Lodge Scholarship tournament is Saturday at 10 a.m. and there is still room for golfers. If you would like to have fun and help out the scholarship fund at the same time come on out.
The wounded warriors tournament will be the next Saturday.
We enjoy seeing the families with mom, dad and youngsters out on the course. What a great thing as it is something that they can do for the rest of their lives. It is also great to look out and see our season pass holders who start very early and are finishing up as we come to life. They say they get the best part of the day for golfing. Maybe I’ll have to try it some day.
