Blackburn takes 5th in Mexico

Soldotna graduate Paige Blackburn took fifth in the javelin throw at the North America, Central America and Caribbean (NACAC) Under-23 Championships on July 8 in Guanajuato, Mexico.

Blackburn threw 162 feet, 9 inches, to finish fifth against athletes from the United States, Mexico and Canada. Mexico’s Abigail Gomez won with a throw of 186—7.
