Skyview's Laber plays at volleyball festival

The Alaska Volleyball Association took three teams to the National Volleyball Festival in Phoenix from June 26 to July 1. The festival included 6,000 athletes.

Cheyanne Laber of Skyview played on the Under-17 team. That squad started with a ranking of 62 and moved up to 45 and won the Commendation Division, earning a trophy.

Laber was a 100 percent server at the tournament, racking up four aces and 17 kills.
