Now that summer is finally here: Golf or fish?

Well, it looks like summer might really be here. Now the big choice is golf or fish. They are both lots of fun and of course I hope that you choose golf. (The fish probably do, too.)
Men’s Night was fantastic with nine three-man teams hitting the fairways on a beautiful sunny day. Mark Moore, Roy Bird and Rudy Z. captured first place at 1-under.
Then the competition began, with three teams tied for second. After much guffawing and harassing, Mark Orth did it again, this time to take his team of Mark, Jeff Gillman and Rob Robertson to second place. Steve Skolnick was also on the green, giving his team Steve, Jerry Lillitson and Trevor Baldwin a solid third.
Long drive was won once again by Trevor Baldwin. Pure birdie was Roy Bird, making that on No. 9 — not an easy task. Jeff Gillman was closest to the pin on No. 6 and Trevor Hordeman on No. 8.
Although the weather was fantastic, I guess the ladies preferred fishing to golf. Sandra Mogline, Amanda Bird and Sandra won long drive, Pat was closest to on No. 8 and Amanda won team so we spread the money around.
We are hosting another new tournament this year. It is being organized and sponsored by Todd Elmore. It is to benefit our military and I cannot think of a more worthy cause.
The proceeds will go to the Semper Fi fund and Americas Fund. We will only be accepting 18 teams. There will be cash prizes for first, second and third. There will also be long drive, closest to the pin and other great prizes. The beverage cart will run during the tournament with snacks and beverages.
At the end of the tournament there will be a cookout with hamburgers and hot dogs. There will also be a silent auction and gun raffle. Hole sponsorships are still available. Get your old military buddies together and come enjoy this great event.
Now that the clubhouse is almost finished we have a couple of young gentlemen working on the pavilion and it should be complete by the tournament this weekend. What a blessing it will be not to have those tents, although they served their purpose.
See you on the course.
